What does the term ‘deodorising’ mean? Simply, to remove odours caused by sweat, dirt and bacteria! Nikwax deodorising products go even further though, keeping you feeling fresher for longer as well as smelling fresher.

How will Sports Refresh keep me feeling fresher? Its powerful and accelerates the drying time of activewear by enhancing wicking, reducing the opportunity for bacteria to thrive and odours to form.

Is Sports Refresh suitable for all brands of activewear? Yes, in fact we actively recommend it for Nike®, Adidas®, Under Armour® and all other brands of activewear. Nikwax offers excellent value for money – being an affordable way to keep your pricey gear in tip top condition.

Is Sports Refresh environmentally friendly? As with all Nikwax products, Sports Refresh is made with care for our natural world. Our effective formula doesn’t contain any biocides, enzymes or biological agents, which means it is kinder to your skin too. We have never used PFAS or aerosol propellants in our products (and our bottles and caps are made from 100% recycled and recyclable plastic).

What is different about Footwear Refresh? Unlike traditional footwear fresheners, Nikwax Footwear Refresh doesn’t just mask odours – it treats the cause by thoroughly cleaning away the odours and removing the bacteria responsible. Not only will your footwear smell fresher for longer, it will also last longer as the bacteria doesn’t get a chance to eat away at the material and stitching.

What kind of footwear can it be used for? Footwear Refresh can be used on all non-waterproof footwear, insoles, and sandals. From trainers to flip flops, Footwear Refresh will extend the life of your footwear and keep them smelling fresh.

How do I use it? Footwear Refresh is easy to use by hand; simply rinse your footwear or insoles with water, apply all over, scrub with a brush, rinse and dry naturally. Watch our how-to video here. We don’t recommend you put your footwear in the washing machine as it can damage it and we want to help make your shoes and sandals last as long as possible.

Will it really get rid of the smell? Footwear Refresh not only removes the bacteria and contaminants which cause footwear to smell, it prevents build-up in the future. If you have a particularly smelly pair of trainers, sandals or insoles, we recommend that you clean them regularly to thoroughly remove any contaminants and prevent future odour build-up.

Why did you develop Wetsuit Refresh? We listened to our customers! We have long been asked to develop a cleaning product for neoprene gear and Wetsuit Refresh is a natural extension of our range. We are thrilled to now be able to meet the aftercare needs of surfers, paddle boarders, wild swimmers and other water enthusiasts.

Did Wetsuit Refresh require much testing before it’s launch? Our Research & Development team rigorously tested the product on neoprene over many months, and Finisterre sent us a Women’s Nieuwland 2e Yulex® Swimsuit for trialling of Wetsuit Refresh on Yulex – a hardy plant-based material made from natural rubber that is sometimes used instead of neoprene, being better for the environment.

How does Wetsuit Refresh work? It deodorises and extends the life of your expensive wetsuit by cleaning away salt, chlorine and organic residue, all of which have the potential to degrade neoprene and Yulex. By removing these contaminants, eliminating odours, and keeping your wetsuit soft and supple, you can look forward to years more use out of it.

Is Wetsuit Refresh ocean-friendly? It is not harmful to aquatic life, being non-biological, and biocide and enzyme-free. As with the rest of our range, Wetsuit Refresh is water-based and PFAS-free.

Is Wetsuit Refresh as easy to use as Sports Refresh? Whilst a wetsuit cannot be cleaned in a washing machine, our clever product is no less easy to use. Simply mix 100ml of Wetsuit Refresh with 20L of cold water, immerse/wash your wetsuit, leave it to soak for 5 minutes, wash one final time and rinse thoroughly in cold water.
